$100,000 claimed by white hat hackers after successful Nexus 6P attack

At the 2016 edition of Mobile Pwn2Own, a group of White Hat hackers have claimed a $100,000 prize after successfully installing a rogue app on a Nexus 6P. The Tencent Keen Security Lab Team were able to get around Android’s internal protection systems in order to install the app.

Tencent Keen Security Lab Team were successful on all three attempts, earning themselves bonus points which equated to $102,500 (€93,000/£84,100).

Mobile Pwn2Own is an annual hacking competition, that took place this year in Tokyo.
