Google has announced that the Together watch face for Android Wear is to be pulled. Together failed to gain the kind of traction that the search engine giant had hoped for, having been launched around one year ago.
The purpose of Together was to allow two people to communicate directly in a fun a simple way. Using the watch face it is possible to swap stickers, as well as send photos, emojis and small drawings.
Google has said that some of Together’s features will be directly integrated into Android Wear 2.0. However, the full Together experience will not be baked into the smartwatch operating system, with some functionality set to be removed.
Together will be discontinued on 30 September. As a result, it will no longer be available to Android Wear smartwatch owners, irrespective of which version of the OS they run.
