DEWALT is to take on Caterpillar with the launch of a new rugged Android smartphone. The tool manufacturer is launching the DEWALT MD501, which is built to be used in work and leisure environments where a smartphone may be subjected to the odd knock and scrape.
The DEWALT MD501 has been designed to withstand a drop onto concrete from a height of two meters. It is also able to operate in a variety of conditions, functioning in temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees centigrade.
Cat Android smartphones have been available for some time now. Although this sector often goes unnoticed my much of the press, it is nonetheless a market where there is very real demand.
