Google has made it much easier to plan journeys on a desktop computer and transfer the results to an Android device. The new feature works be linking the desktop version of Google Maps to the Android app via a user’s Google account.
Sending journey details between devices therefore requires you to be signed in to the same Google account on both your desktop computer and Android device.
When viewing a place you want to travel to, the desktop edition of Google Maps now includes a ‘Send to device’ option on the information card. Selecting this will then give you the option of choosing one of the Android devices that is linked to your Google account.
After you select a device, a notification will then appear on the Android smartphone or tablet you chose. And from the notification bar, it is possible to either view directions for or navigate to your desired destination.
