Following a promising performance in August, HTC has posted a strong set of figures for September. The company’s sales have been good following the launch of new smartphones and a continued push on its HTC Vive virtual reality headset.
Most significant is that September’s revenue of NT$9.33 billion (€265 million/£238 m/$296 million) represents a 31.35 percent increase from the same time last year.
Year-on-year performance has been poor throughout most of 2016 for HTC. Even in September’s reporting, when HTC recorded an increase in sales from the previous month, figures still represented a 4.51% drop from 12 months previous.
The latest set of numbers could represent the start of a turnaround for HTC, with results moving in the right direction. A big improvement has taken place since March this year, when HTC reported a 79% drop in year-on-year revenue.
Following the poor start to the year, revenue is still significantly down on 2015. The NT$55.91 recorded during the first nine months of 2016 is a decline of 41.72%
