HTC One M9+ in gold (rear)

Is HTC’s real 2015 flagship smartphone about to go on sale in Europe?

HTC is fighting back after a difficult period following the launch of the HTC One M9 around the world. The Taiwanese company is set to release the HTC One M9+ – a much-improved version of the HTC One M9 – in Europe.

The HTC One M9+ is not actually a new phone as such, and is already on sale in Asia. As Android Wafer noted back in May, it is actually more of a match for rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4 than the standard edition of the HTC One M9.

In May, the most disappointing aspect of the HTC One M9+ was that no plans had been announced to sell the device outside of markets like Taiwan, China and India. That has now all changed and the HTC One M9+ will go on sale in the Netherlands from 14th July.

HTC’s new smartphone is already listed on the websites of some Dutch retailers, priced at €760 (£525/$825).
