No Google Assistant for Android tablets

There is bad news for owners of Android tablets, with official confirmation coming that there are no plans to enable Google Assistant support for slates. With the artificial intelligence system set to become a key component of Android, a gap will therefore open up between smartphones and tablets running the mobile operating system.

Following a period of exclusivity for the Google Pixel smartphones, it was recently announced that Google Assistant would become available for a range of Android smartphones.

The update will be made available to selected handsets running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and above. However, Google has not specified exactly which models will be supported.
