Tansu Yegen, the vice president of Samsung Electronics in Turkey, has provided an update schedule for a number of smartphones. In a posting on Twitter, Yegen revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be updated to Android Nougat this month.
As Ubergizmo has noted, Yegen’s Twitter post was actually made some time ago, but has only now started to attract attention. And part of the reason for this focus is the fact that the schedule also contains information for the Samsung Galaxy S7’s Android Nougat release, which has proven to be accurate.
The plan lists the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 as receiving Android Nougat this week, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is due to be updated in the fourth week of February.
Although the exact roll-out dates are likely to vary across the continent, Samsung’s updates in Turkey are usually made available at a similar time to the rest of Europe.
