A number of prominent Android devices have been removed from Futuremark’s ranking, over concerns they are manipulating results. The storm engulfs a variety of top hardware, including phones, a tablet and even a convertible.
The devices that have been found to be flouting Futuremark’s rules include the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, HTC One, HTC One Mini and HP Slatebook 10 x2.
Speculation has been rampant that a number of leading Android manufacturers boost the performance of their devices when they detect certain benchmarking apps are being run. Previous reports have mostly centred around Samsung, HTC and LG, although they have usually been followed by denials from the manufacturers involved.
