The GPS navigation app Waze has received a major revision, with version 4.0 now available to download from the Play Store. Amongst the changes include improvements to battery usage, with the app’s power-sapping tendencies having been a significant source of irritation for users.
The update sees the introduction of a redesigned user interface. As a result of the changes, it should now be easier to access some of Waze’s most-used features, with a simplified layout that sees the most popular options contained within fewer tabs
Waze is owned by Google, having been acquired by the search engine giant in 2013 for a reported $1.3 billion (€1.16 bn/£910 million).
