Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced plans to expand into Mexico. The company is set to begin offering two devices – the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4X – in the country.
The launch is part of a significant expansion strategy that will see Xiaomi’s devices being sold at major retailers in Mexico, including Best Buy stores and Amazon online.
Donovan Sung, director of product and marketing at Xiaomi, explained that entering the Mexican market is part of the company’s ambitions to establish a serious presence in Latin America.
“Mexico is a really important market for us and acts as our starting point to reach the rest of Latin America,” he said.
