A YouTube app has been released for Android Wear, making it easy to access the video sharing service from a smartwatch. The app is not an official product from Google, but has been created by the German developer appfour, that has also produced a web browser and email client for Android Wear.
The most interesting feature of the new YouTube app is the fact that it supports Chromecast. This means that users can search for video by voice, before casting to a larger screen.
Bluetooth is also supported by the new app, meaning that it is even possible to listen to and watch videos on smartwatches, although doing so is likely to use a significant amount of battery power.
The app, which has been given the title ‘Video for Android Wear&YouTube’, is available to download from Google Play.
