Early interest in the 2017 edition of the Nokia 3310 is translating into consumer demand, according to UK retailer Carphone Warehouse. The company will be stocking Nokia’s new devices, and consumers are apparently eager to check out one product in particular.
Since Nokia announced their new phones at the recent Mobile World Congress trade show, the Carphone Warehouse has allowed interested consumers to pre-register for the devices.
Even though the Carphone Warehouse is stocking the Nokia 6 – the most-capable of Nokia’s new devices – on an exclusive basis, Andrew Wilson, buying director for mobile at the retailer, says that it is interest in the Nokia 3310 that has proven most remarkable.
“There has been an astonishing groundswell of interest in the Nokia 3310 following its launch announcement,” Wilson said. “Levels of pre-registrations at Carphone Warehouse are incredibly strong, proving that it’s not all hype, and that consumers really want to get their hands on one.”
It is worth noting that pre-registration for a Nokia device at the Carphone Warehouse is both free and non-binding. Therefore, large numbers of potential customers declaring their interest will not necessarily convert into sales.
However, the 2017 Nokia 3310 has created a significant buzz on social media, so there are reasons to believe the demand is genuine. And although the Carphone Warehouse has not revealed any figures, given the large number of product launches the retailer has been involved with, it is well-placed to predict potential sales quantities.
