British smartphone maker Kazam is aiming to launch seven new devices in Europe. The company has said that the smartphones will start to become available before Christmas, which is an ambitious target, given that Kazam was only founded six months ago.
It would be easy to dismiss Kazam as an unrealistic publicity-seeker, with little hope of making an impact. But there are some notable people behind the project, in the shape of former HTC executives Mike Coombes and James Atkins.
Kazam are planning to launch two ranges of phones, under the Trooper and Thunder brand names. This will include everything from entry level to high end devices, all running Android Jelly Bean.
Interestingly, the phones will be equipped with dual SIM capability, allowing one SIM for work and another for leisure. The concept is very popular in Asia, but has yet to take hold in Kazam’s home market, the UK.
