Facebook has admitted that its apps have been causing battery-drain issues, blaming the problem on server-side difficulties. In recent days, there have been complaints on social media about poor battery life, as a result of using Facebook’s mobile apps.
The problem has affected both the Facebook and Messenger apps, although the social network is now hopeful that it has resolved the issue.
David Marcus, Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook, has apologised for the fault, and suggested that affected users restart the apps.
Previously Marcus had advised using stable releases rather than beta apps, although reports on social media suggested that the problem was not limited to beta editions.
