HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle in black and gold

HTC looking to add premium touch to mid-range Android smartphones

Interesting rumours have emerged around HTC and its apparent plans to launch two new mid-range smartphones. The two handsets will be placed within HTC’s Desire range of models, although will be injected with aspects of the Taiwanese company’s Premium ’10’ smartphone line.

So far only details about the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle have been outed, which is the lower-spec device of the two. It is set to be launched alongside the HTC Desire 10 Pro.

Although the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle and HTC Desire 10 Pro might be intended as mid-range devices, it appears the Taiwanese manufacturer has expended considerable effort when it comes to design.

Leaked images of the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle show both white and black models of the smartphone. Both variants include neat-looking gold-coloured detailing, which is particularly striking on the black model.

The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will reportedly be available in several different solid colours, which will have a matte finish.

As far as the system-on-chip is concerned, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset will be under the hood on the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle, although the exact model is not known.

One element of the forthcoming device that appears to have been influenced by the flagship HTC 10 is the audio output. The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will offer Boomsound Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers, with 24-bit audio.

Other specs include a 13-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor for the main camera, as well as a 5-megapixel BSI shooter on the front. The display will be 5.5 inches, with a resolution of 720 x 1280.

When it comes to the operating system, the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will include Android 6.0 Marshmallow, alongside the company’s own HTC Sense overlay.

Memory and storage will vary by market, with either 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, or 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage.

With neither the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle nor the HTC Desire 10 Pro having been formally announced, there is obviously no official release date for the devices as of yet. But current reports suggest that both handsets will launch around the end of September.
