After four consecutive quarters in which HTC recorded a profit, the Taiwanese company has slipped back into the red. After a difficult trading period, HTC has reported a loss of NT$8.03 billion (approximately €234.88 million/£166.39 m/$259.66 m), for the second quarter of 2015.
The size of the loss was largely expected, following disappointing sales of HTC’s 2015 flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9.
HTC is hoping to begin the revival of its fortunes later in 2015, with the launch of the HTC Aero. The company is understood to have high hopes for the smartphone, which it is said to consider a hero product.
It is rumoured that the HTC Aero will feature ground-breaking camera technology, which HTC hopes will set it apart from the competition in a challenging market.
