Kodak’s latest smartphone is set to go on sale in Europe during the coming weeks. The Kodak Ektra is a serious attempt to gain a foothold in the premium sector of the smartphone market.
A number of German retailers, including Media Markt, Amazon.de, Ringfoto, Saturn and notebooksbilliger.de will stock the Kodak Ektra from 9 December.
It is currently also possible to pre-order the smartphone via the official website kodakphones.com.
The handset has been priced at €499 in mainland Europe and £449 in the UK. Although the Kodak Ektra offers some reasonably-powerful specs, it will face considerable competition at its price point.
Unsurprisingly, the centrepiece of the Kodak Ektra is its camera. The main shooter has a 21-megapixel sensor, optical image stabilisation, rapid phase detection autofocus, f/2.0 aperture lens and dual LED flash.
The selfie camera also offers phase detection autofocus, and features a 13 MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens.
