A new machine learning algorithm is to be introduced to Google Play Music in an attempt to offer a more personalised experience. The changes are designed to make the service easier to use, so that searching for music does not become a chore.
Google Play Music’s new algorithm combines a number of factors, including location, weather and previous listening activity, to produce personal music recommendations. It is an attempt to offer up music not only designed to match individual tastes, but also considers influences on a listener’s mood.
The new artificial intelligence elements to Google Play Music will begin rolling out this week, covering all 62 countries where Google’s music streaming service is available.
