Details of a major Chinese smartphone unveilling have started to emerge ahead of the handset’s official launch. A standout feature of the upcomming Oppo R9s is set to be the camera, with the potential for Samsung-beating performance.
The Oppo R9s is set to launch on 19 October, with invites having recently been sent out. And it is being reported by the Chinese media that the device could feature a brand new imaging sensor – the Sony IMX398.
Dual-pixel technology is reported to be amongst the features offered by the Oppo R9s’ camera, following in the footsteps of the highly-regarded Samsung Galaxy S7.
Also similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7, the Oppo R9s may include an f/1.7 apperture lens, indicating that low-light performance could one of the biggest selling points of the smartphone’s camera.
