Jide has launched a new emulator that runs Android on Windows-based computers. Remix OS Player opens up a new desktop window which displays a full Android experience, offering access to apps and games.
Remix OS Player is far from the only Android emulator that is available for Windows, but it does run Android Marshmallow.
Although Android Marshmallow has recently been superseded, Remix OS Player still offers a much more up-to-date version of Android than many of its rivals.
Remix OS for PC, offering a standalone install of the operating system, has been available for some time now. However, the new emulator will attract those who do not wish to install the OS on their equipment.
There is also an element of convenience being provided by Remix OS, making it simple to run apps, games and even the Play Store, while still working in the Windows desktop environment.
One particular aspect of Remix OS Player that is likely to be appealing to many enthusiasts is the price, or rather, lack of it. The emulator is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Jide website.
