If you need to escape the all-encompassing frenzy that is Pokemon Go, then an independent developer from Sweden may have the answer. Isak Persson has released a highly-additive Android game that is currently making waves.
Dashy Knight has no shortage of old-school graphics and sound effects, although it has found acclaim way beyond retro-lovers.
The developer originally unveiled his creation to /r/sweden – a (predominantly) Swedish-language subreddit. Persson has said that it is his first Android game, created following a few weeks of unemployment.
Not only is Dashy Knight a crazy-fun game, part of the reason for it creating so much buzz is what it lacks. The title has been released with no ads, no in-app purchases and requires no permissions to be set.
Persson has achieved the feat of coming up with a captivating free mobile game whilst omitting all of the usual covert costs.
Since its popularity on /r/sweden, Dashy Knight has gone international and is now the day’s top post on the /r/Android subreddit.
The game is available to download from Google Play, and currently has a rating of 4.7 out of five, after 359 reviews.
