YouTube introduces 360-degree live video streaming

Back in March 2015, YouTube introduced support for 360-degree videos. Now the video-sharing website is taking the concept one stage further, with 360-degree live streaming.

With Coachella’s second weekend of 2016 only days away, YouTube has revealed that selected performances will be live streamed in 3D.

YouTube has provided live streaming of Coachella for a number of years and is hoping that 360-degree video will wow fans who are unable to attend in person.

Music is an area where 360-degree videos have already proved popular. With a 360-degree camera positioned on – or close to – the stage, fans can enjoy a more immersive experience by panning around a performance.
